A word about AI.
AI is an amazing tool. It can cut down the time it takes to organize your thoughts, think up a powerful title and subtitle, find good comps and hone your marketing message. And it’s great for finding supporting research studies (once you confirm they’re real).
What AI cannot do is write your book for you because:
Publishers want to be sure they are paying to print and distribute wholly original material.
Publishers do not want to risk copyright infringement.
As an audience we are quickly becoming acclimated to AI’s flat “voice.” We get it for free. We aren’t going to pay $29.99 for it.
So think of AI as an amazing assistant who might also have a coke problem: wildly helpful 90% of the time but when you have to get in a car, you’ll say, “I’ll drive.”
